"What More and What Else Do You Expect The BJP To Do For Hindus?" Here is the Answer!

"What More and What Else Do You Expect The BJP To Do For Hindus?"

Here is the Answer!

Shrikant G. Talageri

Unscrupulous BJP and Modi bhakts have always had the above question to ask when anyone points out that even after 9 years of rule with a clear majority, the BJP in power has failed to do anything for Hindus. [I am sorry if the word "unscrupulous" sounds like "ad hominem" to those who like to raise such issues of political or "debating" correctness when they have little else to say. But the purpose of this article, as of most of my articles, is not to play politically "correct" games of any kind, but to call a spade a spade. And bhakts who shamelessly have two standards for judging the behavior and policies of the BJP and the behavior and the policies of non/anti-BJP parties cannot be called anything but unscrupulous. In my article, "The Three Grades of Anti-Hinduism", I have made it clear that I have greater respect − or rather, comparatively less contempt − for the "Secularists" and the "Breaking India Forces" than I have for the Pseudo-Saffron Brigade (whether leaders, cadres and foot-soldiers or bhakts), who are much more effectively lethal in the task of Breaking India and Destroying Hinduism and Indian Culture].

In a hundred different ways, these bhakts exonerate the BJP of blame even for major anti-Hindu acts, even as they indict the Congress, Leftists and other non/anti-BJP parties for every minor anti-Hindu crime and sin. You cannot expect everything to be done in a day, they point out. But it is not a day, it is 9 years: and in these 9 years the BJP has ridden rough-shod over any and every kind of opposition on any and every issue without caring two figs for what anyone has to say: whether following brazenly crony-capitalist policies, destroying India's forests and greenery, capturing power at every level by the use of state machinery (like the Income tax Department and Enforcement Directorate, or the CBI and Big-brother Surveillance and Control Systems), becoming (at least) the third richest political party in the world, trampling on the rights and freedoms of workers, farmers, artisans and small-scale self-employed people, tightening punitive State Control over the Individual, and so on. But when it comes to anything important for Hindus or Hindu culture, it appears there are constraints on every side, and every word of valid or invalid criticism or protest by opponents (the Opposition Parties and the Press, the Judiciary and the International Media and Foreign Governments), or friends, carries immeasurable weight! And these constraints are still as strong and unconquerable in the tenth year of their rule as they were on the first day!

And strangely enough, the Fake Hindu Issues they do take up are in fact (a)  symbolic and pedestrian issues, or (b) issues which actually do affect non-Hindus (arguably adversely) without doing a single positive thing for Hindus! The first category of issues provide plenty of fodder for those who only want a chance to mock at and ridicule the very idea of there being any serious "Hindu issues" at all; and the second category of issues only provide the non-Hindu Breaking India Forces with (usually lame) excuses to go on the rampage and result in a sharp polarization of Hindu votes on one side ("TINA", "Only the BJP/Modi can save us").

But are those "Hindu" issues which the BJP takes up really "Hindu" issues of prime importance in any way?

In the first category, we have the building of magnificent statues and grand temples, "renaming" of places (roads, cities, districts, railway stations), photo-ops of BJP leaders posing in temples with one eye cocked at the camera, irrelevant or non-contextual provocative statements, using Hindu symbols or rituals on official occasions, etc. Most of these Symbolic Hindu Issues would have a place in the scheme of things after the Real Hindu Issues were fully and conclusively dealt with (or even if the process of dealing with them had actually and genuinely commenced), but they are not a substitute for the Real Hindu Issues.

In the second category. we have issues which directly affect, or can be falsely alleged to target or discriminate against, minorities (like the Triple Talaq Bill or, let us be frank, even the Uniform Civil Code) which in no way benefit Hindus in any sense, and are concerned with genuinely totally Secular rather than Hindu issues.

So the Question is: What are the Real Hindu Issues? And the Answer is now provided by the just-published book, "Hindus in Hindu Rashtra − Eighth-Class Citizens and victims of State-Sanctioned Apartheid" by Anand Ranganathan, which I reviewed just a day ago.

The greatness of this book − this terrifying and frightening  book which will destroy the sleep and peace of mind of any sane, honest and intelligent Hindu who reads it in full − lies in the fact that it provides the answer to this question: "What are the Real Hindu Issues". And, as the  book repeatedly points out throughout: the Real Hindu Issues are not about Special Treatment for Hindus (as citizens of India) but about Equal Treatment for Hindus (as citizens of India)  on par with other (non-Hindu) people: the actual situation, as every word of this brilliant (I find myself using this adjective repeatedly when talking about any part of this masterpiece) book makes clear in ruthless detail, is that Hindus are Eighth-Class citizens of this country who are living under State-sanctioned Apartheid. And (my sentiments exactly), as the inner flap of the front cover of the book puts it: "If this is how a Hindu is rewarded in a Hindu Rashtra, he'd much rather be in a Muslim Rashtra because then at least there'd be no pretence of equality−a Kafir will get what he deserves".

What is the difference between the Fake Hindu Issues and the Real Hindu Issues?

1. Firstly, the Fake Hindu Issues are purely symbolic. They do not give any real benefits to Hindus and do not lighten the crushing burden of Inequality, Oppression and Apartheid by even a jot. On the other hand, the Real Hindu Issues confer actual benefits on Hindus and are directly connected with Equality, Freedom and Non-discrimination.

2. Secondly, the Fake Hindu Issues, in their implementation, provide huge opportunities to mercenary politicians to make a quick buck (or rather, billions of quick bucks) and to fill their coffers in multiple ways, and help to drain massive amounts of public funds on symbolic expenses. On the other hand, the Real Hindu Issues, in their implementation, empower Hindus on a massive scale (without in any way really affecting non-Hindus; except of course in perhaps making unhappy those particular non-Hindus who like to see Hindus persecuted, disempowered and miserable, and driven to extinction), while at the same time drastically reducing or even eliminating the powers of politicians and bureaucrats to loot public funds looted in the first place from Hindus.

3. Thirdly, the Fake Hindu Issues (of the second category) help to stir up the non-Hindus and the Breaking India Forces into violent (valid or invalid) reactions, thereby leading to a backlash from Hindus in the form of a sharp polarization of Hindu voters on the side of the TINA party (the Sole Spokespersons of Hinduism, the Only Person/Party who/which can save Hindus). The Real Hindu Issues cannot stir up polarization because (although I admit that the Breaking India Forces can make almost any issue into an "anti-minority" issue) they only give to Hindus the same rights that the non-Hindus already have, without in any way directly affecting the rights of non-Hindus (except in the eyes of those to whom giving justice and equality to Hindus automatically amounts to doing injustice to or oppressing non-Hindus − but such an attitude could very easily be exposed and demolished).

[The only person to try to extend articles 25-30 to Hindus, and tried to bring a bill to this effect in the Lok Sabha was that notorious leader of the Babri Masjid Action Committee, Syed Shahabuddin! And among those who saw to it that the bill failed to even be discussed, let alone passed, were the MPs belonging to the Ayodhya movement!]

So before trying to whitewash the anti-Hindu role of the BJP government, let the self-respecting bhakt (I am assuming there must be some) first read Anand Ranganathan's book word-for-word, and understand the real situation. There are indeed Real Hindu Issues, and they can indeed be implemented, if there is a will, for the benefit of Hindus and for the survival of Hinduism into the next century (or half-century).
